والد سراج الدين عمر كان فقيها محدثا مفسرا تفقه بدمشق على الحصيري وبمصر على عمه زين الدين محمد بن أبي بكر تلميذ صاحب الهداية ودرس بالمدرسة السيوفية بعد الخلاطي مدة ومات سنة ثمانين وستمائة.
